Active leisure is rather popular in our country, bright illustration of it is a high interest of visitors of 16th international tourist exhibition to stands of companies offering water, mountain and extreme types of tourism.

To mark the commencement of a new phase in its Silk Road Program, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), in collaboration with the Government of Uzbekistan, organized the 5th International Meeting on the Silk Road on 8-9 October in Samarkand.

Bright and eventful international tourist actions take place in two historical cities of Uzbekistan. This peculiar fall holiday of tourism started yesterday. The Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on Silk Road 2010” kicked off in the capital of Uzbekistan, gathering in one place over 500 representatives of the world tourist sector from 36 countries of the world. It is the name of the national exposition of our country, for the first time in such a scale that is presented in a separate pavilion taking into account the tourist features of all regions of our country, demonstrating the tour potential of world-known historical cities of the republic. The rich cultural heritage of the people is reflected in the separate stands provided by the leading museums of Uzbekistan.

The next International session of UNWTO “Development of Tourism on Silk Road” is to pick up the baton of the tourist marathon that will take place in a couple of days in Ulughbek Madrasah of Registon Square in Samarqand.
